14 Pounds Gone!

My progress has been slow, which is fine. My ultimate goal is to shed the extra pounds to be healthy and in the past two-months I have managed to get rid of fourteen-pounds. That makes me feel great about what I am doing. I chalk up part of my recent weight-loss to my new job which requires I run around for 9 hours. This has added to my weight-battle in a positive way. When I weighed in this morning I almost fell over. The scale shouted out – 181 lbs. That is the lowest weight I have been in two-years! I am so damn proud of myself. I just knew I could do this. =0)

Crash and Burn – Falling off the Low Carb Bandwagon

Falling of the Low Carb Bandwagon Hurts …

I have no excuses. However, it is interesting to see how just five-days of crazy-iness can make me feel bloated, sick, unhappy, low energy and guilty. Back to the drawing board friends ……. I guess it is time to hike up my big girl panties and do the walk of shame. ;0)

It looks like I left off on the 14th at Eggs and Granola.

First I wanted to tell you that I signed up at Atkins.com and received a package from them. I love packages! It had a handy-dandy little carb counter booklet, 2 other useful booklets and three meal bars. Today I am a bit excited because I am going on a hunt for the new version of the Atkins book … mind you I have no patience to sit and wait for delivery from a website. I also mentioned before that there is a $3.00 rebate coupon on the Atkins website for the book. I love deals.

So onward …..

Eggs & Granola

I’m feel exceptionally well today. I am in a good mood which beats the sick feeling I had the past few days. Is it possible I hit induction? I sure hope so. Onward – I forgot I was attempting an egg only diet today. What an excuse right? I’m being honest. After work I rushed home to get my hair cut with my brother when the tones dropped for an “out of control” grass fire. So I run into the house, grab my gear and shot back out the door. Off we go. In the end I came home from the “fire” and my hair appointment and got ready to go on a walk. Without thinking I grabbed a bottle of water and an Atkins bar and shot out the door again. Two miles later it hit me that I just flubbed up my own egg fest attempt. Damn it! Oh well … for the most part I got it right .. no? Add to that I’ve been sure to eat something every 3-4 hours today. It’s worked out quite well as I haven’t once been hungry. Love it!

Last night and this afternoon my carb cravings were rather intense. I out-willed them though by grabbing my water bottle and just continuously and ridiculously drowning myself in water the moment a cracker, cheesy or piece of coffee cake popped into my head.

Maybe tomorrow will be better.

WL Stall, Plateau Busters & Induction Flu

I am glad I have been keeping a Food-Log .. it seems that I am doing something wrong as I have hit a stall and haven’t bunched a single ounce in one week. I am hoping with some minor adjustments I can get things rolling (or melting away) again. I read through some Plateau Busters to see just what it is that I am doing wrong ..

Hidden sugars & Invisible Carbs … maybe in my fat free creamer?  The label states no sugar (0g) and 1 carb (1g). Then when I read the ingredients I notice “corn syrup, with less then 2% sugar” – hmmmm. Problem?

Eating enough, 6 small meals a day … well this is a problem for me. Strangely enough I have never been a big eater. In fact I have never eaten much at all however, previously I would eat very little of very bad things. This a habit I have to break – as you can see by yesterday’s Food-Log I didn’t eat until 4:00 p.

– Food Allergies? … I don’t believe so and the first thought is rather entertaining. I would be very upset if I was allergic to food. I like food. But perhaps – I will pay closer attention to what is in what I’m eating. I probably should start organic/raw/no chemical based foods and see if that helps?

– We have a winner – Drinking too much coffee – I can drink it all day long along side water. I will make an extended effort to have two cups in the morning and one in the evening while doing homework. That will help.

I don’t take any medications, no sex hormones (ie. Birth Control), I do take a multi-vitamin each evening … hmmm … what’s going on? What I take from this list is I’m not eating enough which is throwing my body into starvation mode – I didn’t mean to. Bad habits are hard to break. I get so busy between working two jobs, three kids, full time college work and life I sometimes (most often) forget to eat until I’m fading away with hunger.

I am really considering Jimmy Moore’s Egg-fest & following suit of LCDJ. *taps keyboard* … it’s either Eggs or this >>> Stillman’s Quick Weight Loss Diet. I don’t know about you but I like meat however not enough to make it my only food source. But eggs … well I’m a freak – I can think of a million ways to eat them … so I think I’m up for Jimmy’s menu of choice: Egg Fest time.

I forgot to mention the past two days I felt like hell. Perhaps induction flu? I was headachey, my stomach was rolling around, I wanted to eat but I didn’t. Strange.

Off to work *Cheers*

I don’t know what I’m doing!

Today’s goal is to find informational articles on low carb lifestyle and put together a meal plain for the remaining month of April.

Yesterday I did accomplish a nice walk that included my husband and kids. We hiked through a gorgeous nature trail and if it wasn’t so darn windy out I would have suggested we go further. None the less – it was so much fun. I think we’re going back there today – if not I have asked my brother to walk our usual 4 miles with me.

As you can see by yesterday’s food log I did well with my food intake – minus the Rye Sandwich thins. I didn’t however, eat any dinner. By 6 pm I was sporting a massive headache from being tired. The previous night my 2 year old woke up randomly every 2 hours and I finally gave up at 6 am yesterday morning. My body was screaming for sleep as I dozed off around 7 pm last night and woke up at 7 am. 12 hours of much needed sleep. Thanks to my loving husband who fed the kids dinner, cleaned the kitchen, and put the monsters to bed. I am so blessed.

Prior to LC research and menu planning I have to finish up college work. I weighed in at exactly 188 this morning – no difference from yesterday. Perhaps having sandwich thins would be great on maintenance but not on the losing phase. I hope to check out some more blogs today. Well, I’m off to have breakfast with my brother. I’ll check in later.
